Henri Salvador is an eclectic French entertainer and these two CDs cover his earliest years, including his long stint with Ray Ventura’s orchestra. On the first set, he takes a short jazz guitar break on 1946’s «My Guy’s Come Back», wich is otherwise a feature for harmonica player Hubert Giraud. A pre-Goons Show Max Geldray takes the harmonica lead on the second CD featuring on four numbers, including a version of Louis Jordan’s « Is You is Or Is You Ain’t My Baby », all from a December 1946 session recorded for Swiss Radio.
