« Pierre Louiss 1965-1975 » par Blues in Britain

Singer, guitarist and occasional trumpeter Pierre Louiss was born on the French Carribean Island of Martinique in 1908, recorded before the Second World war and made the material on Creole Swing (Frémeaux FA042) between 1962 and 1976. The repertoire here includes Carribbean folk and popular material, plenty of jazz and of course the blues. There are a couple of straight blues numbers and strong rythm&blues influences on several others. Pierre died in 1986, but his son Eddy, who plays some fine organ on the set, continues his legacy.
