THE COMPLETE WORKS 1947-1953
“The complete works of Django Reinhardt is the herculean endeavor, to say the least. Each 2 CD set is chock full of 40 plus recording and packaged with an excellent liner booklett detailing recording dates and personnel as well as detailed recording history. The liner notes are in both English and French.”

PRESENTATION STOMP 1928 - 1934
(2-CD set) “Dead Django is like one of those gentle beasts that die in a cage. But the lived as one dreams of living: in a caravan”. Jean COCTEAU, 1953. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
I SAW STARS 1934 - 1935
(2-CD set) “Jazz attracted me because it offered a perfection of form and instrumental precision that I admire in great music, but which are lacking in popular music”. Django REINHARDT. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
DJANGOLOGY 1935
(2-CD set) “Playing jazz with three guitars, a violin and a bass, chamber-music fashion, was completely new. Like Django’s playing : a philharmonic orchestra in itself !”. Stéphane GRAPPELLI. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
MAGIC STRINGS 1935
(2-CD set) “For us, musicians, Django appeared as a rare pearl, the exceptional phoenix, coming from the depth of time, in all his purity, here in the twentieth century.” André EKYAN. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
MISTERY PACIFIC 1936 - 1937
(2-CD set) “As far as Django was concerned, improvisation was not simply a matter of putting phrases together haphazardly. On the contrary, it had to be built and developed coherently, strictly respecting the outlines, and which, despite its unpredictability, led inexorably to the conclusion.” Charles DELAUNAY. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
SWINGING WITH DJANGO 1937
(2-CD set) “Grappelli told me that Django and Joseph were gypsies. Django had wounded his left hand when he was very young and could only use three fingers, but when he played it was if he had ten on one hand!” Bill COLEMAN. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
CHRISTMAS SWING 1937 - 1938
(2-CD set) “What musically moves me the most ? There’s Ravel’s Valses Nobles et Sentimentales (...). I can’t forget Bach’s Toccata and Fugue where the music reaches my heart and makes me cry. Debussy is maybe the closest to my musical ideal as in him I can find the sensitivity and intelligence that I demand from all music”. Django REINHARDT. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
SWING FROM PARIS 1938 - 1939
(2-CD set) Musically speaking, Django was uncompromising. He was fully aware of his worth. A wrong note would have the same effect as an insult. He couldn’t bear the mediocrity of certain accompanists. Despite his dreamy and peace-loving nature, he became violent and even sarcastic in these events. I believe that he heard more music than the orchestra was capable of playing. Stéphane GRAPPELLI. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
H.C.Q STRUT 1939 - 1940
(2-CD set) “You only find a musician like Django once in a century. Rex STEWART. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
NUAGES 1940
(2-CD set) “He sounded like an entire orchestra, even when he was simply tuning his guitar”. Hubert ROSTAING. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
SWING 42 1940 - 1942
(2-CD set) “And then he came on, already smiling, ‘cause he was really nice. He had a big smile with beautiful white teeth and a beautiful black moustache and he smiled at the audience. He came to play a bit. And what he gave was real music.” Fud CANDRIX. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
MANOIR DE MES RÊVES 1943 - 1945
(2-CD set) “Eddie Lang, the American was good, but Django, the Frenchman was above all judgement, like God!” James JONES - From Here To Eternity. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
ECHOES OF FRANCE 1946 - 1947
(2-CD set) Django is undoubtedly the most interesting figure in the world of jazz since Duke Ellington, and like him, he is an arranger as much as a composer. Constant LAMBERT. Includes a 44 page booklet with both French and English notes.
DJANGO'S DREAM 1947
(2-CD set) “This Gypsy is worth a Goya” (attributed to) Anna de NOAILLES. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
GIPSY WITH A SONG 1947
(2-CD set) Django Reinhardt was my first inspiration. I never heard someone play like him, his sliding ring so modern. What he expressed was exactly the way in which I wished to play. Joe PASS. Includes a 32 page booklet with both French and English notes.
FESTIVAL 48 - 1948
(2-CD set) Django cut himself off from me in 1947, after returning from the United States (…) He had met with an enormous check for which only he was responsible. Upon his return, he detached himself more and more from music, realising he'd failed his American conquest Charles DELAUNAY. Includes a 40 page booklet with both French and English notes.
LA MER - 1949
(2-CD set) Don't talk to me about music ! At the moment I'm painting... Django REINHARDT. But fortunately, Django did not only paint in 1949… This 2-CD set with 40 tracks covers the legendary guitarist's Rome sessions from this very same year. Includes a 32 page booklet with both French and English notes.
I' LL NEVER BE THE SAME - 1949 - 1950
(2-CD set) The ongoing series documenting the complete works of Django Reinhardt continues here on this 40 track set featuring Django with Stephane Grappelli (1949 Rome Sessions), Django with his Quintette (1949 radio recordings), Django with Le Quintette du Hot Club de France (1950 Rome Sessions), and one song from This Paris on the Maurice Chevalier Radio Show in 1949. Includes a 32 page booklet with both French and English notes.
TROUBLANT BOLERO - 1950-1952
“Je ne travaille pas chez Renault pour mon litre de rouge !.. Quand tu verras Charles (Delaunay), dis-lui qu’il travaille trop!..” Django REINHARDT à Frank TÉNOT, vers 1947-48 / “I don’t work for Renault to buy my bottle of red ! When you see Charles (Delaunay), tell him he works too much…” (Django REINHARDT to Frank TENOT, circa 1947-48)
POUR QUE MA VIE DEMEURE - 1953 & COMPLEMENTS (1928-1947)
“For almost three years the world’s greatest guitarist lived the blissful life of a retired deputy stationmaster. His happiness was such that nothing or nobody could pull him away from his vegetative contentment, from this Hindu civil servant’s nirvana”. Yves SALGUES
