With Mes Soeurs, Stéphanie takes the opposite tack to her first album: darker, more refined, more urgent. This new record explores, in the twilight, themes that the artist holds dear: desire, escape, being in the world. Her voice is liberated, sometimes verging on speech, at the heart of arrangements crafted by Fred Pallem, in the style of a Marie Laforêt who has passed through East Berlin. It is lively and sensual material, where the elegance of the orchestration reveals the tension and energy of the lyrics.
